NAV-I-GATIONWhat is Web 1.0? What is A.I.? The Contrast E-Mail Me! You are visitor number: |
What is "Web 1.0"?You're looking at it! This is my new "home page" built using Web 1.0 principles. Think of it as a "read-only" web. It's like a digital flyer or magazine. A person (me!) writes the content, codes the HTML (HyperText Markup Language), and uploads the file to a server. You, the "surfer," visit my page and read it. It's static! It won't change unless I manually edit the code and re-upload it. We use What is "A.I."?A.I. stands for Artificial Intelligence. It's a futuristic idea where computer programs can "think" for themselves. Right now, a human (me!) wrote every single word on this page. I had to decide what to say and how to say it. An A.I. program could *generate* new text all by itself. Imagine a "Web 2.0" or "Web 3.0" where the content is created *for you* by a computer brain! It sounds like science fiction, but it's the next big thing. The Lesson: Static vs. GeneratedThis page is an "artifact." It is **static**. The content is fixed. This is the key feature of Web 1.0. The **modern web** is interactive (Web 2.0) and now **generative** (the A.I. web). A modern site would use a Content Management System (CMS), pull data from a database, and use complex CSS for layout. An AI-driven site could write a new article on this topic every time you loaded the page. This page will *never* do that. It is a snapshot in time! (c) 2025 Professor M.
